Valentine Cookie Recipes

Valentine's Day is celebrated on the 14th of February by lovers all over the world. People in love take Valentine's Day as an opportunity to express their feelings and show their love for each other. There are many Valentine cookbooks and websites on the Internet that give you yummy and easy Valentine cookie recipes. One of the best Valentine cookie recipes are for Peanut Butter Blossoms cookies. These cookies melt in your mouth and are very easy to make.



The ingredients you will need are:

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of smooth peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1-3/4 cup of flour
  • 2 Tablespoon of milk
  • 48 Hershey's kisses
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

  • For the preparation you must first mix in a bowl peanut butter, all the sugars and shortening. Beat this mixture at until well blended at medium speed. Add by beating in the milk, egg, and vanilla. In another bowl mix the baking soda, flour, and salt together.

  • Add the previous dry mixture to the peanut butter mixture and combine well until it has blended. Make small amounts of the dough into the shape of 1" round balls.

  • Roll each ball over powdered sugar and coat lightly. Put the sugar coated dough balls on sheets and keep a gap of 2inches in between them.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375º for 10 minutes until it is very lightly browned. Allow the baked cookies to slightly cool on the sheets for about a minute and transfer to a counter top covered with waxed parchment paper.

  • Soon after while the cookies are still warm, insert a Hershey kiss in the center of each cookie, gently pressing it into the cookie.

  • Cool completely and allow the Hershey's kisses to harden. Cooling might take several hours but you must store them only after they have cooled completely.
